Court Service
The purpose of the Court Service is the delivery of justice. The Agency is responsible for the running of most of the courts and tribunals in England & Wales and provides the necessary services to the judiciary and court users to ensure its impartial and efficient operation. The Agency also has responsibility for advice to the Secretary of State on his responsibilities in relation to magistrates' courts although they remain a locally managed service as defined in statute.

ensure people's rights and responsibilities; and
enhance democratic freedoms by modernising the law and the constitution.

Journal of Information, Law and Technology
The Journal of Information, Law & Technology is an established but innovative electronic law journal covering a range of topics relating to IT law and applications. Justice
Founded in 1957, Justice is an independent legal human rights organisation who have a growing and influential membership of barristers, solicitors, judges, academics and voluntary sector workers, and legal professionals.
Land Registry
The Land Registry guarantees the title to registered land in England and Wales and holds records for land ownership and interests.
Law Commission
The Law Commission was set up in 1965 to keep the law of England and Wales under review and to recommend reform when it is needed. There is a similar body for Scotland.
Their aim is to promote the reform of the law and they
publish provisional proposals for consultation and comment, and in the light of the responses they receive they lay their final recommendations before Parliament.
The Law Society
The Law Society is the regulatory and representative body for 116,000 solicitors in England and Wales and have important public responsibilities:
regulating and setting standards for solicitors to make sure they deliver a good and ethical service to consumers;
representing solicitors;
supporting solicitors to help them achieve the standards expected of them, and deliver good service;
influencing law reform to achieve a better system of justice.
The Law Society of Scotland
The Law Society of Scotland is the governing body for Scottish solicitors. It was established by the Legal Aid & Solicitors (Scotland) Act in 1949. The main aims of the Society are set out in the Solicitors (Scotland) Act 1980. In essence, the Society promotes the interests of the Solicitors profession in Scotland and the interests of the public in relation to the profession.
Legal Services Commission
The Legal Services Commission looks after legal aid in England and Wales.
They are also responsible for ensuring that people get the information, advice and legal help they need to deal with a wide range of everyday problems.
Liberty
Liberty is one of the UK's leading human rights and civil liberties organisations. It was founded as the National Council for Civil Liberties in 1934 and has fought to secure equal rights for everyone for 70 years.
